Editorial policy

Mantra Mountain has operated treks and adventure trips out of Pokhara since 2018. Our guides walk the Annapurna, Mardi Himal, Poon Hill, Manaslu and Everest routes through every season, and the same people answer the enquiry emails.

Guides are published under the Mantra Mountain guide team; news under the Mantra Mountain News Desk. We do not invent bylines, and we do not claim first-hand reporting we did not do.

• Route facts, walking times and altitudes come from guides who work the route, and are checked against the operator's own itineraries before publication.
• Prices and permit fees are given as ranges, with the office or authority to confirm them named, because they change without notice.
• Drafts are assembled with the help of automated tooling and are published only after passing an automated quality gate that rejects thin, duplicated, fabricated or unsourced material.
• Anything we are not confident about is written as 'check this here' rather than stated as fact.

• Every story starts from dated reports by named outlets. Those reports are listed and linked at the foot of each article.
• We summarise what was reported and add our own planning guidance. We do not reproduce anyone's wording, and we do not claim first-hand reporting we did not do.
• Casualty figures, official statements and statistics are only published when they appear in a cited source, and are attributed to that source.
• Stories about disasters, casualties, crime or unrest carry no advertising and no sales pitch.
• News is a snapshot. Anything you plan around should be confirmed with the authority, airline or operator concerned.

Every story on the news desk ends with the outlets it draws on, linked directly. If a story has no sources, it does not publish — that rule is enforced in code, not by good intentions.

• Casualty figures, official statements or statistics that do not appear in a cited source.
• Graphic detail about a death or injury, or anything that identifies a victim before their family has been informed.
• Travel-marketing content framed on a disaster, and any advertising or sales pitch on a story about one.
• Reproduced wording from another outlet's reporting.
• A recommendation bought by an advertiser or partner.

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will correct it and say what changed. Corrections are made on the article itself with the update date shown.
